Welcome to Josem Consulting

Josem Consulting is a boutique advisory firm specialising in the selection and on-going management of technology and systems solutions that deliver sustained business advantage to our retailing clients.

We are often engaged to help a retailer choose a new system.  We look for the best match of technology and vendor to meet the particular needs of the business.

We are sometimes engaged by retailers to deal with their existing technology vendors to hold them to account to deliver the productivity gains that were promised.

We don't take a "cookie cutter" approach - every assignment is regarded as unique.

The heart of our philosophy is "You can't manage what you don't measure".  In other words, to deliver efficient stock control and excellence in customer service we focus on three main themes:

  1. Data collection
  2. Analytics
  3. Alignment of work processes to match business priorities

With very many projects under our belt, we have come to understand best retail management practices.  We know who are the good IT vendors, and we know how to get a retailer's work force to incorporate improved business practices into their standard operating process.

We also know what's best for one retailer is not necessarily best for another.

In summary, we cost-effectively work together with our clients to align IT systems with business processes.

Themes for revenue growth

  • Making sure you have the right product in stock at the right price at the right time at the right place at the right quantities, with your people having the right information when and where they need it to serve a growing customer base
  • Using technology to help build emotional connections to your brand in an environment where customers are embracing new technologies more quickly than ever before
  • Maximising overall total company revenue by making all sales channels cooperate and complement each other, ensuring that investments in stock are visible right across the operation

Themes for cost reduction

  • Increasing staff productivity by aligning systems with business processes - cutting down the cost of doing business
  • Sharing the capabilities within the business across all channels of business operations
  • Using technology to improve collaboration up and down the supply chain

It's about using the power of technology to catalyse business growth and reduce the overall cost of doing business.

Our Managing Director and Principal Consultant, Julian Josem, has spent more than 40 years working with Australian retailers.  He is known as a no-nonsense, straight shooter whose advice and guidance has been invaluable as clients navigate through a maze of technology options.

But it's not just Julian;  The firm can call on a team of other mature consultants with extensive experience when necessary - all are considered experts in their fields, and subscribe to a common set of service ethics - Trust, Competence, and Value delivery.
